VC Platform is looking for an energetic, detail-oriented, and community-obsessed leader to become our second full-time team member. We are a fast-growing community of 2,000+ venture capital operators across 45 countries focused on heightening connectivity and accelerating the platform profession in VC. We represent the incredible leaders who help grow and scale their firm’s portfolio companies. Our members lead at over 1,000 funds including Sequoia, a16z, Kleiner Perkins, Greylock, Lightspeed, Bessemer, Index, and beyond. We are also supported by a network of sponsors including Google, AWS, HSBC, Zendesk, Stripe, and many top products & service providers aligned with our mission to accelerate our funders and founders. We aim to facilitate relationship-building amongst ambitious platform leaders and amplify their accomplishments and contributions to the venture and tech industry.

JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to and working directly with the leadership team, the Head of Community will help conceptualize and guide our core product – our membership. This includes organizing and executing events (including our flagship Summit), initiatives, and content that moves the needle on our organization’s goals. The “north star” of this role is to deliver an unparalleled and highly impactful member experience.
Membership
Lead the growth of our core membership product:
- Approve, follow up with, and reject applicants and oversee the Membership Committee
- Recruit (where appropriate) eligible platform professionals into the community
- Produce and highlight relevant content, thought leadership, and initiatives that would spark interest in our community
- Organize a robust member programming calendar:
- Play a key role in organizing programming for our flagship events incl. our annual Global Summit every Spring; and European Summit every Fall
- Organize local community “captains” around the world to host regional events and happy hours and ensure member communications are well-planned and clear
- Build a virtual programming schedule of the topics most compelling to our membership
- Set up monthly community virtual connections for members and iterate on ideas to innovate our member experience
- Create opportunities to integrate product demos of our sponsors and other key industry leaders to help the community
Community Moderation
- Oversee a highly active community of 2,000+ members to help drive engagement and moderate discussion in conformity with our member by-laws and principles
- Build and monitor a community ‘health score’ to ensure we are doing the best possible job supporting our members and guide the leadership team on focus areas
- Refer and introduce members to our sponsor organizations and other products, vendors, and/or services that help them achieve their goals
- Monitor the organization’s general administrative account + Forum and help answer questions (either directly or by encouraging others to participate)
Other Responsibilities
- Communicate with the Board of Directors and key stakeholders, where necessary
- Contribute to and support organizational governance matters (including community norms, member bylaws, application requirements, etc.)
- Track and present relevant data for trend analysis
LOCATION
This position is remote and will involve occasional international travel.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERTISE REQUIRED
- Experience in and passion for community building, and the venture capital & technology industry
- An entrepreneurial self-starter comfortable leading in a small team setting
- Familiarity with various software for collaboration, storage, productivity, marketing, CRMs, and social media
- Prior event management experience
- Prior community-building experience
- A high degree of professionalism and the ability to act as an ambassador on behalf of the community
